Thanksgiving is around the corner and there are so many reasons to be thankful for. At the same time, thanksgiving dinner with your family is something what you look forward.

While Turkey is a staple on the table, the appetizing sides are something that catch our attention.

One such side is the classic Corn Bread, the mildly sweet dish pairs well with chilli or can be savored as such.


INGREDIENTS:

All purpose flour - 1 1/4 cups

Yellow corn meal - 3/4 cup

Sugar - 1/4 cup

Baking powder- 2 tsp

Salt - 1/2 tsp

Milk - 1 cup

Oil/ Melted butter- 1/4 cup

Egg - 1

Step by Step Instructions :

Measure and add all the dry ingredients in a bowl.

In another bowl, add all the wet ingredients whisk it together till they combine well.

Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients.

Whisk together everything to form a smooth batter.

ree

Butter the baking pan or cup cake mold and line it with a parchment paper.

Pour the mixture in the baking pan or cup cake molds and tap it once to level the batter.

Preheat the oven and bake at 400F for 20-25 mins or until the top turns light golden brown. Let it cool for 10 minutes before you serve.

If you use cup cake molds, then the baking time is reduced to 15-20 minute so keep an eye on the oven for the color change.

It’s a mildly sweet dish and so it can be served along with maple syrup, honey or with chilli like how it’s traditionally served for thanksgiving.
